that makes a lot of sense to me ...

you might as well just call WEMF Edgefest 3 or Wedgefest aka 102.wemf

adding broken social scene and mobile and pilate and all those other uber trendy flavour of the moment rock bands is nothing more than a cash grab
anyone who thinks differently is a complete fucking moron

it's also funny how the band line-up and Broken Social Scene are the main emphasis on the flyer
thier name is front and centre on the line-up

Destiny enjoy your cash grab ... i'm sure the guys who started this company would be really proud of what you've done/are doing to the name Destiny and WEMF

guarentee there will be a SHITLOAD of fights and other violent acts (ie. rape) this year

I'm just happy to be going, the line up looks good enough to me. Big names bring some people, but most people just go for the VIBE of WEMF, there is more to WEMF then just the DJ's, its the people u party with, meet, the things u see and do, the stories u have to tell after and the memories. I can't wait till WEMF this year!!

Look, people, Granted if Rock becomes a main focus, you are all right it is less beocming the world ELECTRONIC MUSIC festival. Which is what it, IMO, supposed to be. I do not go to WEMF to see Edge Fest. HOW EVER, conversely, even though it is being offered i will do what o always do, go back and forth from Destiny Tent to Hardcore Tent. Just that simple. If you do not like the rock, SHOW Destiny YOU do not want it there by not attending the stages. It is called Protesting. I thought about it and there is no reason to Whine like a Bitch. If you do not like the music being put on either do not go, (They will notice the loss of sales if enough people do not go) OR leave the tents you do not like empty. If nobody likes the Rock Stage and only like 3 people are in there at a time, GUESS what, it will NOT be making a come back in any following years IF there are any.

SO, Post you do not like it with Tact so Destiny can see it, and then do not show up to ehtier the event, OR to the stages. Simple as that.

I for one, am gonna go, forget the idea that there is Rock Playing (As much as i like rock this Edge crap they have been playing blows CHUNKS these days). Who ever is going for th event itself and the love of the music they are going to hear, i will see you there.

I just thought of something over Tea... What if, the reaosn WEMF has done the Rock stage this year in association with 102.1 the Edge, is because it is getting harder and harder to get locations. When you are a "Rave" group, who has HORRIBLE rumours about it, it is hard to do. HOW EVER, the sound of Radio Station people etc tends to change a mood. SO maybe WEMF is sacrificing some room to put in a rock stage so that WEMF can actually continue.

Something to think on at least. If that is the reaosn, i support it 100%, i would hate to see wemf go.

I'm excited about the line up peronsally. As stated by Cowboyvirus, Golide, Mampi Swift (who I opted out of for RITM last year), SS, Grooverider, etc NEVER fucking come close to my area. As for the other stages they look pretty good to.

As for the rock stage, the only thing that did bother me was the prominance on the flier. However, as I was going through my morning routine I had the same thoughts as Mikie and pathelogical, what if Destiny is trying to mask WEMF as being a rave to get locations and to halt the standard "rave" steretype? It'd be a pretty good PR move on their part I think.

WEMF has been the highlight of my year for the past two years, being absolutely the best party, having the best music, being my best vacation, having the best people and vibe. I see no reason why this would not be true this year.

As to the quality and trendiness of the cutting edge stage bands, I've never heard of any of them personally.
